Daily Stride Tracker ("the App") is developed and published by CodeCraftedApps. CodeCraftedApps ("CodeCraftedApps," "we," or "I") is one independent developer based in the United States. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your health data. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Overview

Daily Stride Tracker is designed with a simple privacy principle: your data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal or health information on external servers.

Data Collection

• No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal health data to our servers.
• HealthKit Integration: All health data is read directly from Apple HealthKit and remains on your device.
• Local Storage Only: App settings and preferences are stored locally on your device using on-device app storage.
• No App Analytics: The app does not use analytics, tracking, or data collection services.

Data Handling

• Device-Only Processing: All calculations and data processing occur on your device.
• No Cloud Storage: Your health data is never uploaded to cloud servers.
• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third parties.
• No Advertising: We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
• Purchases: The optional free trial and one-time unlock are sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; the app receives only Apple's signed confirmation that a purchase exists, never your payment details, and that confirmation is checked on your device.

HealthKit Permissions

• Read-Only Access: The app requests read-only access to your HealthKit data.
• User Control: You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
• Specific Data Types: We only access step count, distance, active energy, exercise time, workouts, floors, height, weight, and date of birth. Your date of birth sets your starting step goal, your height is used to estimate your stride length, and your weight is used to show your BMI. All of this happens on your device.
• Biological Sex Is Not Requested: The app does not ask for it. Nothing in the app varies by sex, and the research on daily steps and health outcomes finds no significant difference by sex.
• No Writing: We do not write data back to HealthKit.

Apple Watch and Diagnostics

• Apple Watch: Today's totals and your settings are exchanged directly between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch. Nothing passes through any server.
• Diagnostics: An optional diagnostics log (off by default) records app events — never health values — on your device only. It leaves your device only if you choose to export it or email a report to [email protected].

Data Retention

All app data — including your preferences, settings, and cached health information — is stored locally on your device for as long as the app is installed. We do not retain any data on external servers. When you uninstall Daily Stride Tracker, all app data is permanently deleted from your device. Your HealthKit data is managed separately by iOS and is not affected by uninstalling the app.

Your Rights and Data Deletion

• Data Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time.
• Data Deletion: Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app. You may also email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" to confirm deletion or ask for assistance.
• Permission Control: You control all HealthKit permissions through iOS Settings.
• No Account Required: No user account or registration is required.

Consent and Revocation

By using Daily Stride Tracker, you consent to this privacy policy and our data handling practices as described above. You can revoke your consent at any time by:

• Revoking HealthKit access: Go to iOS Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Daily Stride Tracker, and disable any or all data types.
• Uninstalling the app: This permanently removes all app data from your device.

Revoking HealthKit access will prevent the app from reading new health data but will not delete data already cached locally. To fully remove all data, uninstall the app.

Security

• iOS Security: Your data is protected by iOS security features.
• No Server Transmission: Health data is never sent to any server — ours or anyone else's.
• Local Encryption: App data uses iOS encryption standards.
• No Backend Servers: No servers to compromise or hack.

Children's Privacy

Daily Stride Tracker does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app reads health data from HealthKit locally and does not send any data to us or to any third party.

Website Data

This website (codecraftedapps.com/apps/dailystridetracker/) is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages and served through Cloudflare. It uses no analytics scripts, sets no tracking cookies, and loads no third-party fonts or CDNs. Two services are involved in delivering it:

• GitHub Pages may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of hosting. See GitHub's Privacy Statement for details.
• Cloudflare may process standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
