Nabbit ("the App") is developed and published by CodeCraftedApps ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how Nabbit handles your information — the short version is that it collects nothing and sends nothing off your Mac.

Overview

Nabbit is a menu-bar utility that shows the newest files from folders you choose and lets you drag them into other apps. It is designed around a simple principle: your files and your activity stay on your device. Nabbit has no servers, no accounts, and makes no network requests of any kind.

Data Collection

• No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
• No Analytics or Tracking: The app contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
• No Accounts: Nabbit requires no sign-up, login, or user account.
• No Network Requests: The app does not connect to the internet or send your data anywhere.

File Access

• Folders You Choose: Nabbit only accesses folders you explicitly grant it — Desktop and Downloads by default, plus any folders you add with Nabbit Pro.
• Security-Scoped Access: Access is granted through macOS’s standard security-scoped bookmarks and remains on your device. You can change what Nabbit can see at any time in the app’s Settings.
• On-Device Only: File names, contents, thumbnails, and previews are read on your Mac to display the list and previews. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared.
• App Sandbox: Nabbit runs in the macOS App Sandbox, which limits it to the access you have granted.

How Nabbit Treats Your Files

Nabbit is copy-only by design. A normal drag creates a copy of the file in the destination app; your original is never moved or modified. There is a single, deliberate exception: when you drag a file to the Trash, Nabbit moves that item to the Trash, exactly as Finder would. This is the only circumstance in which Nabbit changes a file on disk, and it is why the app requests file access that permits trashing. Nabbit performs no other writes, edits, or deletions.

Preferences

Your settings (such as row density, the folders you watch, your chosen global shortcut, and your Pro status) are stored locally on your Mac using the system’s standard preferences storage. These preferences never leave your device.

Purchases

• One-Time Unlock: Nabbit Pro is an optional one-time purchase, with no subscription.
• Handled by Apple: The purchase is processed entirely by Apple’s App Store. Nabbit never sees or stores your payment details.
• On-Device Verification: Your Pro entitlement is verified on your device through Apple’s StoreKit. No purchase data is sent to us.

Third Parties

Nabbit uses no third-party servers, SDKs, or advertising networks. The only external party involved is Apple, solely for processing the optional Pro purchase through the App Store, under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because Nabbit stores nothing off your device, there is no server-side data to retain or delete. Your local preferences exist only while the app is installed. Uninstalling Nabbit removes its preferences from your Mac. Your files are never held by Nabbit — they always remain in their original locations under your control.

Security

• macOS Security: Your data is protected by macOS security features, including the App Sandbox and device encryption.
• No Network Transmission: Nabbit makes no network connections, so there is no data in transit to intercept.
• No Backend Servers: There are no servers to compromise.
• No External Dependencies: The app is built almost entirely on Apple frameworks and contains no third-party tracking SDKs.

Encryption

Nabbit does not implement any custom encryption. It relies solely on macOS’s built-in protections. The app qualifies for the encryption exemption under U.S. export regulations (EAR) as it uses only standard operating-system functionality.

Children’s Privacy

Nabbit does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It is safe for users of all ages in this regard.

Website Data

This website (codecraftedapps.com/apps/nabbit/) is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no analytics, no tracking cookies, and no third-party fonts, CDNs, or external resources. The only data collected is the standard server logs kept by GitHub Pages as part of hosting (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited). See GitHub’s Privacy Statement for details.
