Getting Started
Up and running in under a minute.
When you first launch Nabbit, it asks for access to your Desktop and Downloads so it can show their newest files. Click the Nabbit icon in your menu bar to open the dropdown, then drag any file straight into the app you’re working in. To open Nabbit from anywhere, set a global keyboard shortcut in Settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about Nabbit.
Why does Nabbit need access to my folders?
So it can list and let you drag your newest files. Access is limited to the folders you explicitly grant — Desktop and Downloads by default, plus any folders you add with Pro. Nabbit uses the system’s security-scoped access, and your files never leave your Mac.
Does Nabbit change or move my files?
No. A normal drag always makes a copy — your original stays exactly where it is. The only exception is when you drag a file to the Trash, which deletes it just like Finder does. Nabbit performs no other changes to your files.
How do I set the global shortcut?
Open Settings inside Nabbit, find “Global shortcut,” and record any key combination you like. There’s no default, so it never conflicts with a shortcut you already use. Press it from any app to open or close the Nabbit dropdown.
What is a “nabbed” file?
When you drag a file out, Nabbit dims it and adds a checkmark so you can see what you’ve already grabbed while working through a long list. The file is still fully available — you can drag it again. Click its checkmark to clear just that one, or use “Clear Nabbed” to clear them all. You can turn this off in Settings.
How do I unlock Pro, or restore it on another Mac?
Open Settings > Nabbit Pro and choose Unlock. Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase — there is no subscription. If you’ve already bought it, use “Restore Purchases” on any Mac signed in to the same Apple Account.
My files aren’t showing after an update.
A recent version changed how Nabbit accesses your folders, so it may ask you to approve access again. Open Settings and re-grant access to Desktop and Downloads (and any custom folders), and your files will reappear.
Why can I only drag three files at once?
Three-at-once is the free tier limit. Nabbit Pro removes it so you can drag as many files as you like in a single grab.
What macOS version do I need?
Nabbit requires macOS 26.5 or later.
